A Cabinet Full of…

You were so good to me!

You better believe this OIAJ was fantastic! Sunland’s caramel peanut butter with apples and oats? Like caramel apples minus the stickyness that gets on your teeth.

Another jar...

This time it was Sunland’s dark chocolate peanut butter. This was so delicious! I sliced a banana and put in a handful of raisins. I thought to myself “hmm… what are somethings that taste good covered in chocolate?” I always forget about raisins!

Just for the sake of having something to feast your eyes on.

This time I got to use a jar of Blue Diamond’s crunchy almond butter. I also spiced it with my tea masala. The jar was too small to fit the peach slices and mango chunks so I just took bites of each as I ate the OIAJ. Hopefully I continue to be a lucky girl with the OIAJ. I’d actually like to try sweet potatoes in jar–saw the idea over at this cutie’s blog!

Sandwich on-the-go: avocado mixed with hummus + tomato + onion

Favorite outfit last week!

This is what I was wearing actually when I almost got hit by a car and flew off my bike. My knees and legs got cut up and bruised but atleast no pants were ripped!

Tried a new veggie burger...

I’ve seen many of you rave about Amy’s veggie burgers so I knew I had to give them a try. This is the Texas veggie burger in a ciabatta roll with Bone Suckin’ BBQ sauce + vegan mayo, onions, and lettuce. I think the veggie burger was definitely yummy tasting.

Afterwards I met up with an old friend at the river!

The warm weather has been off and on. We were lucky that day to get lots of warmth and sun.

What the heck are those green things?

Well those are pumpkin seed butter balls. I just took 1 cup of pumpkin seed butter, lots of cinnamon and honey, and mixed it all together. Then I left them in the freezer to harden. They have a distinct flavor but I think the honey and cinnamon helped balance the pumpkin seed butter flavor. Plus, I really love the color!

Well, this semester is quickly coming to an end and I’ve had lots of projects/assignments, exams, projects in progress, celebrations, and life in general going on. Even though I’ve been really busy, I’ve loved it! This is going to sound weird but I feel like I’m being eaten by the creativity monster. Hehe don’t worry it’s a good thing. I also know the warm weather makes it easier for me to just go out there. I hope everyone is doing well and also enjoying life.

those balls sound yummy. i love sweets and nut/seed butters and simple recipes… i will definitely be trying these

  3. pumpkin seed butter balls?! what a great idea! i’m going to have to steal that one. your bike accident reminds me of the time i flew off my bike and got bloodied-up because i was afraid of the bee that landed on my shoulder! it was NOT worth not being stung! anyway, i hope you’re doing well now :) have a lovely day!

  4. I think I am pre-programmed to always pair chocolate with bananas and strawberries. I totally forgot that raisins were a very worthy pairing!

Aren’t Amy’s burgers the best? I’ve only had them a few times because I can’t seem to find them around here. It’s a shame, I love their smokey flavor.

I am infatuated with your outfit. Those ruffles make your badonkadonk look fierceeeeee. Not that I was looking or anything ;)

    love you, girlfriend!

  5. That’s some major oats in a jar postage! :D

I love OIAJ! I need to have some soon…but sadly, my nut butter jars are kinda full. Must consume more nut butter! =D

  6. “Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, but the realization of how much you already have.” love this quote!

And OMG all of your eats look delicious! I must try OIAJ very soon :) and I´m a huge fan of pumpkin seeds!

Your “tulip” skirt is amazing, too- so pretty!

  8. ummm how hot is that outfit! looks great. red actually looks amazing on ya too!

omg that would be so good those pumpkin seed butter balls :D

btw ‘ze river’ as you say … it’s gorgeous hehe

  9. Getting eaten by the creativity river does indeed sound bad! But I can see how it’s good…like maybe the creativity monster captured you, took you to his lair, and ate you so that he can force you to do his bidding and create his creative ideas.

Wow, that was imaginative. Maybe the creativity monster ate me.

Love the sound of caramel peanut butter! Does it taste very different than other sweet peanut butters like white chocolate or honey?

  10. You make OIAJ look so very good. So, I LOVE OATS and I LOVE NUT BUTTER JARS, but for some reason, I can’t get into my oats in my nut butter jar! This is so odd and I really think that something must be wrong with me. Maybe I am just not making them with the fabulous skills and love that you must be putting into yours because everything you make I just want to eat all day long. Seriously, I can’t recall a single time when I looked at your eats and thought they didn’t look extremely amazing! :)

I hope you are having a perfect week my darling friend.

  11. THE CREATIVITY MONSTER! ahahah i freaking ADORE you! thank you SO much for the shout out!! LOVE anything IN A JAR!
that outfit is seriously AMAZING!! i cant get over it! you look AWESOME.
love you tons! ALMOST DONE! when do u get done w. classes again? xoxo

  12. katharina my dear…i am envious of your lovely jars of nut butter but more so of that skirt! i MUST ask – where did you purchase? my mind is telling me anthropologie…let’s see if i am right :)

yay for being eaten by the creativity! i wish i was having that happen. unfortunately my job doesn’t involve much creativity, which makes me sad because its truly a skill you need to practice and use. however, blogging helps, and if anything – it keeps me motivated to keep being creative in other ways!

    love ya lady :)

  13. That river looks so gorgeous! I want to swim in it. I can’t wait until the weather is warm enough here so that I can swim in our lakes.

You almost got hit by a car?!? I’m so glad it missed and that the only injuries were some scraped knees! Cute outfit though.. maybe whoever was driving got distracted by admiring it. :p

  14. Oh my goodness. I am glad to hear that you are okay after the close encounter on your bike. Please tell me you wear a helmet when you bike around here. It’s so dangerous!!

On a lighter note, I love Amy’s Veggies burgers – the Texas and California are my favs.

Hope to see you soon lady.

  15. Super lovely outfit but I can’t believe you got thrown off your bike!! Are you okay? Ay ay ay!

Glad the semester has been so ace for you…here comes summer!

  16. Love the outfit :) I love red, black, white clothes…
& I’ve gotta try those pumpkin seed balls!

I hear ya on the busy busy of the semester. Papers, projects, upcoming exams 1 week after this! But I love feeling productive, too. It all balances out.

  17. I loved what you said about being “eaten by the creativity monster,” I feel the same way! I’m taking this expirimental bookmaking class that has my right side brain working like it has never worked before! Sometimes I get so overwhlmed with creative thoughts and ideas that I just begin to cry. I know, it sounds crazy, but something about this whole flood of inspiration gets me welled-up every time!

I don’t think i’ve ever commented before, but I read your blog and I love that you are a sculpture major! Sculpture is such a broad art, you can really do just about anything with it! It’s a very noble art form, I think!

You are a true inspiration, Katharina!

  18. Unfortunately, this semester passed WAY TOO FASt….and then now that it’s ending, it is crawling way too SLOW!

Little fashionista, you still have to give me fashion tips! ;-)
