My breakfasts over the past couple of days have been a mix of cold cereals. The one thing I don’t like about them is that you have to eat the bowl quickly or else it gets too soggy!

Kay's Naturals Hi-Protein Cereal, Cascadian Farm's Cinnamon Crunch, & Kamut Puffs
One thing I started doing is “caramelizing” my banana. Basically heating it up till it gets mooshy, then I just smash it a spoon and pour my cereals on top. Then I mix it all.
My bowl of cereal has lately become good friends with a bowl of yogurt with toppings!

Plain yogurt, with Grave's Mountain Peach Brandy presevers, pistachios, and raisins.
There’s another marmalade I’ve been using my Grandma Hoerner. It’s the orange marmalade and it’s incredible! It has super thin orange slices in it.

The other day for lunch I had another Potato Roll stuffed with leftover refried beans, red pepper, and vegan mayo. I had some more refried beans with guacamole mixed in over some orange pepper pieces. All the way in the back is the white wine spinach with some parmesan cheese. The whole meal was very yummy! I love beans with bell peppers. Later on that night I went to meet up with some old high school friends. We stuck with our tradition and went to this little Mexican restaurant and requested the waiter we’ve had for the past 4 years. The food was yummy, but I think I’ve had my dose of beans for awhile.
Yesterday I met up with my friend, Sway, that goes to NYU. I wish she didn’t leave me! But New York isn’t too far from me, so I can visit her when I have time. We went to a restaurant I’ve mentioned on here before called Tarrant’s Cafe. I love that place! The environment is subtle elegance with a touch of “home”. We sat in the restaurant for hours and just talked.

I'm making a goofy face. I get a little flustered when people take pictures of just me.

Both of us ordered yummy salads served with fresh garlic rolls.

They don't have hot chocolate on the menu, but they somehow managed to whip up a delicious cup!
Last night was also First Friday. It’s basically an art walk that happens the first Friday of every month – a bit of redundancy for you! Most of the galleries put up new shows. There are also vendors selling their crafts, musicians hoping to make some money, and just a whole lot of talent to see in general. It’s always a fun time, and I love to see what some people decide to wear. I guess during artistic events, people tend to be less shy about expressing themselves. I love it!

A sculpture done by one of the professors, Morgan Herrin, in my department.
I saw it in his studio when it was still a work in progress, and it was still mind-blowing. I wish I got a better detail shot, but you can maybe find it on google. I believe this is the piece that Lance Armstrong purchased.

Sway was "interacting" with the video. It was so hard not to have fun with it.

Then we bumped into a friend! She's interning at one of the galleries.
Speaking of art. Someone said that they wanted to see more of my sculptures on here. So here you guys go!

I don't know if you guys can see this, but inside is a little light beaming out.
Today I also made my first green smoothie! It tasted really, really good! I hate my use of adjectives. Sometimes I’m just really simple.
Chocolate-Covered Katie is having a giveaway! Go check it out: Mixmygranola Contest
So I’ll leave you guys with this picture

There was an actual photobooth at First Friday!
What’s something that never ceases to make you smile?
Thanks so much for the shout out! Happy Sunday
Thanks Katie!!

something that never seizes to make me smile is my boyfriend.. corny, i know.. but its true!

Boyfriends can have that effect
Especially when they are awesome cuddlers and tell us how cute we are!
You and your friend are so cute! Looks like your night was fantassstic!
It looks like you had a lot of fun too this weekend!
Aww, you two are SO CUTE. (I get seriously flustered when people take a picture of me alone too. Like I can’t hold my darn head still, I want to move already!) There’s something like First Fridays in Portland’s art district; it was very neat to check it out when I went for spring break.
P.S. White wine spinach with parm sounds AMAZING!!!
I want to go to Portland! I heard they have a lot of vegan friendly things there. I’m just imaging a vegan “milk”shake.
White wine spinach with parm IS amazing! (It tastes even better with raisins)
very interesting and unique sculpture! thanks for posting
your green smoothie sounds good, I don’t think i’ve ever had one.
It tasted delicious BUT I got an upset stomach for it : I guess some people can handle it, and some can’t.
